Student-teacher ratio is the number of teachers divided by the number of students. A low ratio is often a selling point, while a high ratio can indicate a lack; anything from public funding to poor performance or a focal point of community stress.

Methodology

Individual school data is aggregated to the county level. This is a work in progress. Further analysis is necessary to normalize aggregates based on grade level, type (charter and magnet vs 'standard' public schools), etc. This map gives a general view of student-teacher ratio.
